I have my first ever sunflower growing tall and proud in my little veggie garden. It is so cheery and bright you just cannot miss it. I planted quite a number of them, but sadly I grew quite impatient and pulled them all out except for 2, now I am kicking myself for not having some self control and patience. As the saying goes "all good things come to those who wait" next year I am definitely going to be patient and watch these beautiful flowers grow into tall majestic golden suns. Happy gardening.
Hello Sarah, what a lovely sunflower, although it seems strange to me that it is growing at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are well and have not been affected by the flooding and bad weather. I'm afraid my geography of Australia is poor, so I don't know what things are like outside of Queensland, which we hear a lot about on the news.
Hi Karin,
ReplyDeleteAll is well where I live. I am in Sydney, NSW quite a long way from the floods. My family live quite close and I have relatives who are stuck in there homes due to flooding in Brisbane, Queensland.
I have finally taken the sunflowers out they were slowly dying! We have had such warm weather everything is growing wild, I am having a pumpkin takeover at the moment.
Hope all is well on your side of the world.
I echo what Karin said and although it seems odd to me to see a lovely sunflower in December, I am totally jealous!!
ReplyDeleteI just adore them! Do they attract any of your native birds once they run to seed?
